    This symbol mark of Nagoya is known for its golden dolphins on the roof. Built by Ieyasu Tokugawa, it is a classical Japanese castle for the plains. Very regrettably, the castle was burnt to the ground in war, and the current donjon was rebuilt in 1959. There are exhibits inside and an observation deck.

    This old venerable temple was built in 1688 by Mitsutomo Tokugawa, the second lord of the domain. The green rich grounds are a popular spot in the fall because of the autumnal foliage. The site is divided into east and west hills with the main temple on the east hill and the famous five-story pagoda on the west hill. The pagoda is a National Treasure of Japan. Events are held at the temple for the Spring Equinox, cherry blossom viewing, moon viewing and the 1,000 Lantern Festival.

The gardens can be enjoyed throughout the year via the fresh greenery of spring, tinged foliage of autumn and seasonal flowers like peonies and irises.
